Ink. Stamp. Share. January blog hop

Hi there!

 Welcome to another blog hop from Ink.Stamp.Share. We are a group of Stampin Up demonstrators from across the globe who love to get together to share ideas and inspiration with each other and everyone who reads our blogs.This month we are taking our theme from the new Spring/Summer catalogue. There are some lovely crafty goodies in there, so here we go. If you have hopped in from Rebecca-Jo, I'm sure you are already brimming with ideas for your own crafting. If you've come straight to me, then I hope you take time to hop round all the other blogs too.

 Anyone who knows me, knows I love butterflies, so I was very excited when I saw the catalogue had not one, but two stamp sets! On page 13 you'll find Beauty Abounds. This stunning bundle has butterflies galore and gorgeous sentiments. 
And then on pages 34 & 35, you'll find a whole suite of goodies! The stamp set with matching punch means you can have butterflies everywhere in a very short amount of time - that to me is a little bit of heaven 😁
To go with the stamp is some gorgeous 6" x 6" gingham papers in lovely fresh spring colours. You'll also find ribbon and adhesive backed sequins.

This is the set I chose to use for my make this month. I was going to be taking part in a 'virtual' get together with some friends who all live a distance away from me. As I couldn't get there, we agreed I would join via Facebook live! Unfortunately our host had to postpone with a family emergency, but as I had already made the items I thought I would share here.
My first project was a little swap for everyone, so I made little chocolate favours with the gingham papers.
Then for our "Make n Take", I prepared kits for everyone and posted them off to my Upline ready for the get together. These were little gift boxes for tealights. You can get 4 Ikea tealights inside, or possible 5 from other places (I also had some from Asda, a UK supermarket, and found they are a bit smaller than Ikea ones).

After making these I went just a little butterfly crazy and ended up with all these cards! Most I CASED from Pinterest as I wanted lots of samples to share with my fellow team friends.




Last of all, I made five desk calendars to add to my catalogues going out to customers that week.

Ink & Share Scrapbook hop - January


Hi Crafters!

 A belated Happy New Year!

 Welcome to our little blog hop. If you've hopped in from Sue, I'm sure you are already full of ideas for your next layout, if you've come straight to me, please do take some time to hop round everyone's entries for lots of great ideas for your own scrapbooking/journaling.

 This months theme is so appropriate as my son is about to get married! Just three days after this blog goes live! It's so close now. I'm lucky that my future daughter-in-law included me in the wedding preparations. We made all their invitations together, even my son had an input glueing a few embellishments here and there. They've also come to me for other crafted items like gift boxes, and I've given them supplies to take away to make things on their own too.

 Anyway, on with the layout. I've gone for a slightly rustic theme and may have to change a few things after the wedding. They're keeping a lot of what's happening quiet which is exciting. One thing I can tell you, they're getting married in a castle!
This photo shows my "mood board" - just gathering together the things I plan on using for the layout. I stayed with the Neutrals colour palette as I know their theme is greens and browns (by the colours of card and ribbon I've given them to work with!).
Using some retired Kraft 12 x 12 as my base, I used an even older retired stamp to randomly stamp "Happy I Do Day". This was around long before I joined Stampin Up so have not idea which set it comes from, it's just a random stamp I managed to pick up because I liked it. 
Then I used an A4 sheet of Mossy Meadow, tearing the ends to give some texture. Next came some Early Expresso layered onto Very Vanilla. To add a hint of gold, I used some retired vinyl stickers from Painted Love Gold stickers set. 
A length of Whisper White Flax ribbon, laid across adding a buckle from my stash (non SU) represented the garter most brides traditionally wear, I added a label with the sentiment Meant To Be and cut out a scalloped heart in gold foil - both from the Meant To Be bundle.

Hedingham Castle in Essex, England dates back to the Normans. The castle fortifications and outbuildings were built around 1100, and the keep (tower) around 1140. However, the tower is the only major medieval structure that has survived. Its turned pretty cold here, no snow is forecast so far, but if it does snow, I'll be changing the photo! 😂
Obviously I can't add a photo of the happy couple yet, and I hope the colours I've chosen tone nicely with the colours at the wedding. I loved putting this layout together and will add more pages once I have a few photos to play with!
