From the Catalogue - Stamp & Hop

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to another Stamp n Hop!  This month we're CASING the catalogue. What's CASING I hear you ask? Well, to CASE something is to Copy And Selectively Edit or Copy And SHARE everything. I've heard both versions. Either way, this month we are using the Annual Catalogue for our inspiration.

I'm sure you'll get lots of inspiration, I know I will as there are so many different things to choose from the catalogue!

I chose the stamp set Around The Corner found on page 40. 

I wanted to use a stamp set that I haven't used much yet (there are plenty on my shelves!). At Onstage we were encouraged to use the hashtag #simplestamping for our projects and I think this one fits the bill nicely.

I decided to choose from the In Colours for 2017/2019 as they only have another 4 months with us which makes me sad as I do love them (Stampin Up! change their "In Colours" every 2 years). I couldn't decide which colour dsp to use, so I used all of them! At least I now have a bunch of cards all ready!

I used the Stamparatus to help me position the corner stamps, it meant I could batch stamp the card layers in one go. I made a standard sized card by cutting an A4 sheet of coloured card in half lengthways. Here in the UK, that meant cutting at 4 1/8". I then folded it in half to create a tent fold card. The dsp was cut at 4 1/8" x 5 7/8" to cover the front of the card, plus a piece of vellum 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" to layer over the top. I then cut a 3 3/8" square of Whisper White for the stamped image.I used the corresponding ink colour to highlight the "Its your Day" on the image, punching out random colours for the balloons and a vellum one for each card. I finished them off with some Rhinestones

I hope this has inspired you to go look at the catalogue for ideas. Its a fun way to try something different and the samples in the catalogue are there for you to copy if you wish.

Winter Holiday - Ink & Share Scrapbook Hop

Hello Crafters and welcome to another scrapbook project. As you can see, I'm blog hopping again! If you've just hopped in from Rebecca-Jo, I'm  sure you're already inspired to create your own page!

When I saw our subject, I knew straight away which group of photos I wanted to use. In February 2016 my dad paid for my sister and I to accompany him on a cruise to Norway to hopefully see the Northern Lights. It was an amazing experience and I loved almost every minute of it ..... I came home with an unwanted souvenir- a broken wrist- the only part of my cruise I didn't like!

To create this page I used the beautiful Snow is Glistening stamp set with the matching Snowfall Thinlits dies. I stamped across the top using my Stamparatus then freehand stamped the snowflakes

Then I added a border across the bottom to represent the snow 

Next I added my chosen photos. These are from the North Cape (or Nordkapp as its known in Norway).  It's somewhere my dad has wanted to go since he was in his youth. It was slow progress with his dodgy hips and my broken wrist, but we made it!

Lastly I stamped and die cut the letters to create the title (anyone notice my mistake? The N is upsidedown!), and added a handwritten notation using a white gel pen. Adding the snowflakes from the thinlit dies added a bit of "brrrr" to the page

Onstage 2018 - Little Treats for team meal after the event

Hi Crafters,

Today's blog is all about the little table favours I've made for the extended team I'm in with Stampin Up. Julies Jems come from all over the UK. We love to get together after the Onstage event for a meal and to catch up.

Onstage is an event that happens twice a year, usually held in the Midlands area. This year its in The Vox Centre, Birmingham. Its a chance to catch up and mix with other SU demonstrators, swap little cards & gifts (great way to get some inspiration!) and just meet with like-minded folk. I am excited to go as the small team I'm in all live in the Midlands so I only get to see them once or twice a year.

I like to give the Jems a little gift when we meet, so I have made some cute little bonbon style treats containing Ferrero Rocher chocolates. There are about 25 of us, so I have a large boxful!

I used a brand new stamp set that's only available for the month of November 2018. 

The little treats are simple and quick to make up. You just start with a piece of Designer Paper measuring 6" x 4"

Score on the longer side at 1 3/8"; 2 3/4"; 4 1/8"; 5 1/2"

On the short side at 1" and 3"
